Description

Medway NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an exceptional, forward-thinking, and inclusive Chief Financial Officer to join our Board. This is a pivotal leadership role with broad responsibility for driving financial strategy, performance, and innovation across the Trust during a major period of improvement and cultural change.

We are an organisation with ambition. We are delivering our Integrated Improvement Plan at pace, taking determined action following an independent cultural review, and strengthening quality, governance, and culture to improve performance.  Operating within a challenging financial context, including our participation in the National Provider Improvement Programme, we are committed to using our resources wisely to deliver better care and outcomes for our patients.

As Chief Financial Officer, you will lead the Trust’s financial strategy, providing clarity, rigour and assurance while supporting transformation and service improvement. You will be a key advisor to the Board, helping translate strategy into sustainable financial plans that support patient‑centred care.

We are looking for a resilient and values-driven leader, with a proven track record at or close to board level. Experienced in leading financial recovery and transformation, you will bring experience of strategic leadership partnership working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. You will quickly develop credibility, clarity, and confidence both internally and externally at this time of significant transformation and opportunity. Most importantly, you will share our BEST values, and help shape a culture focused on delivering safe, high‑quality, patient‑centred care.

If you are energised by challenge and committed to improving outcomes for patients and communities, we would love to hear from you.
